If she did write those demeaning comments I am totally surprised. I am a bit of an idealist
thinking that what I do for children, teaching them about our country and how its leaders
should be respected and held in high honor, is important.
After this morning"s reading, my bubble of "country pride" certainly has a gigantic hole with
deflation occuring rapidly. Maybe I am missing the point, which idealist do tend to do at
times, but at the present my day does not seem so bright. I was going to announce to my
class, with great excitement, my plans for them to write to their President or someone in high
standing. I am going through with my plans, but I just don't seem to have the excitement that I did.
As far as the comments about the 20 year old history books, I am simply broken hearted.
